PROJECT RIO VERDE
EDUCAR
Back when Rio Verde FM first started its transmissions,
after some research and technical planning,
the radio acquired a small area in order to
set its transmitters. The location was chosen
in accordance to specific technical orientation
regarding altitude and best positioning.
Later on, Rio Verde FM noticed the state of
natural degradation of the respective area and
its surrounds. As the radio’s ideal has
been to promote citizenship and social conscious
acts, Rio Verde FM then decided to implement
its first socially responsible initiative.
After setting the equipment, the radio acquired
all surrounding area that was available for
trading and hired a firm specialized in reforesting
and environment to assist us on the implementation
of our project Rio Verde Educar.
Currently, we have been working on the local
flora and water reservoirs’ recovery,
aiming to have that area completely recovered
in a few years. To complement that work, we
also engaged the local schools. Lectures are
given to the students about the importance of
preserving. They are brought to the area so
that they can actually participate in and witness
the stages of the process.
